Mission

The +PiNE project aims to increase knowledge and promote non-violent parenting practices among families – parents/caregivers | adults -, in situations of greater vulnerability and professionals working with them. It seeks to create a multifaceted impact that not only improves individual family dynamics but also enhances educational and social support systems.

Context

Parenting, beyond being a gratifying experience, can also be challenging, particularly in circumstances of greater social, economic, or personal vulnerability. The +PiNE project recognizes that all families wish to perform their responsibilities well and aligned with the Convention on the Rights of the Child, European recommendations, notably Recommendation (2006)19 from the Council of Europe on policies supporting positive parenting, and the INSPIRE strategies (WHO, 2018).

Why This
Project Matters

According to WHO, nearly 3 in 4 children, or 300 million children aged 2–4 years, regularly suffer physical punishment and/or psychological violence at the hands of parents and caregivers. By mitigating severe parenting practices, promoting positive interactions, and strengthening family bonds, the project contributes to preventing violence against children.

Target Groups
Primary Target Groups:

  • Families (parents and caregivers – adults), in situations of greater vulnerability, with children from 0 to 6 years old.
  • Professionals Working with Families (educators, social workers, adult education staff, and healthcare professionals).

Objectives

+PiNE is an Erasmus+ project, Key Action 2 – Cooperation Partnerships in Adult Education, funded by the European Union that has as objectives:

provide the best available knowledge and pedagogical practices on positive parenting and non-violent education, aimed at families in greater vulnerability situations and professionals working with them [+PiNE Innovative (e)Learning Framework]

co-create a precise and easy-to-use digital tool on positive parenting and non-violent education [+PiNE Digital Educational Toolkit]

provide evidence-based guidance on positive parenting and non-violent education for professionals [+PiNE eGuide]
